The northernmost project in the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE) is near completion, which will provide safe travel for residents in Merapok in the Bukit Sari constituency bordering Sabah.
The project involves the improvement of an existing 1.15km Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) road bund from Merapok To Kampung Patarikan, in the Lawas District.
The new road will also serve as an alternative route connecting Kampung Patarikan with the Sindumin Immigration Office.
Set to be completed within months, it will provide local residents with an all weather road with bituminous surface comfortable to travel on.
Piling works have been completed, along with the construction of drainage, gabions and reinforced concrete crossover structures.
Roadworks, such as the laying of bituminous road pavement with road subbase, is nearly 50% completed, while road furniture, such road line markings and guardrails, are being installed.
This infrastructure development project is implemented by the Northern Region Development Agency (NRDA), under RECODA.
