An existing access road to Long Mekaba in Upper Baram, in the Miri division will be improved to R1 Modified Standard in an infrastructure project implemented by the Highland Development Agency (HDA), under RECODA.
The access road will be upgraded to a 6.7km gravel road of R1 Modified Standard and will connect to the existing Sungai Mekaba bridge.
Land acquisition works by the Miri Land & Survey Department is ongoing, as are the mobilisation of plants and machineries on site.
Construction workers have been instructed to follow the SOP, set by health authorities in view of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) period.
The project, which began late last year, is expected to be completed by 2022.
