A new road will link Punang with Kampung Sungai Bangat, in the Lawas District in an infrastructure project implemented by the Northern Region Development Agency (NRDA), under RECODA.
The construction of approximately 1.78km of new road to R1 standard connecting the coastal towns is expected to be completed by early next year. Within the same project, 0.85km of existing road will be widened to 5 metre width carriageway to ease traffic movements.
At the moment, earthworks, as well as the laying of geotextile and sandfilling work are underway. After this, pavement marking, the installation of road furniture and the construction of drainage structures will commence.
