Value Engineering (VE) Lab serves as a platform for RECODA and other implementing agencies not just to evaluate project designs in developing infrastructure projects but also to ensure adherence to the defined scope and budget. The VE Lab identifies issues while improving function and quality. Most importantly, it aims to meet project requirements at the lowest possible cost.

Today, our Day 1 VE Lab for the Section C1 Road project, located within the Samalaju Industrial Park (SIP) in Bintulu, began and will continue until 7th December (Thursday). The project involves the construction of a 6km dual carriageway, connecting SIP to Miri, serving as a vital artery for both investors and the general public.

The surge in SIP’s investor base has necessitated road upgrades to ensure seamless traffic flow and reduced travel time.

RECODA’s Project Management Division Director, Mr Haji Mohammad Safri Ibrahim, emphasised in his opening speech today the importance of continuously upgrading facilities in SIP to cater to the evolving needs of industries, communities, and investors.

He expressed confidence that the technical insights gleaned from the VE Lab, facilitated by the Public Works Department (JKR) Malaysia, would significantly contribute to the project’s success, benefiting both investors and the local community. Â
