Sarawak State Government makes a working trip to China to explore the fruits and vegetables sectors
The Sarawak State Secretary, YB Tan Sri Datuk Amar Haji Mohamad Morshidi bin Abdul Ghani led a delegation of State Government officials to China for a working visit from 1st to 4th August.
The delegation included the State Planning Unit Director, Datu Haji Mohamad Abu Bakar bin Marzuki, RECODA Chief Executive Officer, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Wilson Baya Dandot, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Modernization of Agriculture and Rural Economy, Datu Dr. Ngenang anak Jangu, the Director of the Agriculture Department, Datu Lai Kui Fong, Sarikei’s Resident, Dr. Anthony Valentine Laiseh, Betong’s Resident, Datu Romie Sigan Daniel and Dato Patrick Liew.
The goal of the visit was to enhance cooperation with Industry players from China and to explore the China market for fruits and vegetables and finalize the findings of the Food Basket Masterplan Study.
The delegation held roundtable discussions with key industry players before carrying out a study visit to Jiangnan Fruit & Vegetable Wholesale Market, the number 1 ranked wholesale market in China.
