RECODA joins other Economic Corridors Authorities to collaborate on Tourism Development
RECODA, along with authorities from Malaysia’s four other economic corridors — East Coast Economic Region (ECER), Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER), Iskandar Malaysia (IM) and Sabah Development Corridor (SDC) — are participating in the 3-day Indonesia–Malaysia–Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) & Brunei Darussalam–Indonesia–Malaysia–Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) National Tourism Seminar, which began on 4th December and will continue until 6th December 2023.
Representing our CEO, Datuk Ismawi Ismuni, is our Corporate Services Division Director, Dr. Hadysyam Junaidi, who presented the Masterplans of RECODA’s three Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) encompassing the Upper Rajang Basin, Baram Highland and the Northern Region of Sarawak. These areas within the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE) demonstrate great potential to become eco-tourism destinations, aligning with Malaysia’s tourism focus on niche markets in eco-tourism, in preparation for Visit Malaysia Year 2026.
Thank you Tourism Malaysia and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MOTAC), for this opportunity to explore potential collaborations! Together, we aim not only to advance tourism but also to uplift the livelihoods of local communities.
