The Samalaju Water Supply Infrastructure Project Phase 2 is a critical initiative aimed at addressing water demands by upgrading the current 80 MLD capacity to a 200 MLD Water Treatment Plant. Upon completion, the plant will produce 200 MLD of treated water, meeting the industries demand in Samalaju Industrial Park (SIP).

RECODA’s Project Management Team, led by Project Management Division Director Haji Mohammad Safri Ibrahim, together with the Strategic Investment Division (SID) of the Ministry of Finance Malaysia (MOF), conducted a working visit to the project today.

The visit began with a site inspection at the proposed Raw Water Intake located near to Rh. Justin Agas, Labang, Batang Kemena, followed by a visit to the Samalaju Water Treatment Plant. A project briefing was then delivered by RECODA and the consultants during the visit.

Attendees included Division Secretary of the Ministry of Finance Malaysia (MOF), Dato’ Nor Eni Binti Ismail; Acting Deputy Director (Finance Unit) of the Sarawak State Financial Secretary’s Office, Bata Anak Punjab; and representatives from Jabatan Bekalan Air Luar Bandar (JBALB) Sarawak, LAKU Management and consultants.

Projek Infrastruktur Bekalan Air Samalaju Fasa 2 adalah satu inisiatif penting untuk meningkatkan kapasiti bekalan air daripada 80 MLD kepada 200 MLD melalui penaiktarafan Loji Rawatan Air. Apabila siap sepenuhnya, loji ini akan menghasilkan 200 MLD air terawat untuk memenuhi keperluan industri di Taman Perindustrian Samalaju (SIP).

Hari ini, Pasukan Pengurusan Projek RECODA yang diketuai oleh Pengarah Bahagian Pengurusan Projek, Haji Mohammad Safri Ibrahim, bersama Bahagian Pelaburan Strategik (SID) Kementerian Kewangan Malaysia (MOF) telah mengadakan lawatan kerja ke projek ini.

Lawatan dimulakan dengan pemeriksaan tapak di lokasi cadangan Muka Sauk berhampiran Rh. Justin Agas, Labang, Batang Kemena, sebelum diteruskan ke Loji Rawatan Air Samalaju. Sepanjang lawatan, satu taklimat projek telah disampaikan oleh pihak RECODA dan perunding.

Turut hadir dalam lawatan ini ialah Setiausaha Bahagian, Kementerian Kewangan Malaysia (MOF), Dato’ Nor Eni Binti Ismail; Pemangku Ketua Penolong Pengarah (Unit Kewangan), Pejabat Setiausaha Kewangan Negeri Sarawak, Pn. Bata Anak Punjab; serta wakil-wakil daripada Jabatan Bekalan Air Luar Bandar (JBALB) Sarawak, LAKU Management dan perunding projek.
