Yang Berhormat Dato’ Sri Mustapha Mohamad, Minister of International Trade and Industry Malaysia (MITI) visits Samalaju Industrial Park
YB Minister of International Trade and Industry (MITI), Dato’ Sri Mustapha Mohamed made his third official visit to Bintulu and Samalaju Industrial Park (SIP) on 25th April 2016.
The visit began with a tour of Samalaju Industrial Park with a stop-over at Samalaju Industrial Port. This was followed by a Networking Lunch hosted by RECODA and held at Samalaju Resort Hotel.
During the lunch, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Wilson Baya Dandot the CEO of RECODA, the agency responsible for the successful implementation of SCORE gave a briefing to the Minister on developments and progress since his last visit.
Following the presentation, YB Minister congratulated RECODA for achieving the highest approved FDIs in the country and recording investment of RM41 billion as announced by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) in its 2015 annual report. YB Minister also commended the cooperation between investors and related agencies to address challenges and issues and working together to find solutions.
Delegates in the Minister’s entourage included En. Griffith Jones Goba (Director, MITI, Sarawak), senior officers from MITI, En. Arham Abdul Rahman (Executive Director Investment Promotion, MIDA HQ), En. Redzuan Abd Rahman (Director of MIDA Sarawak) and their respective assistants, YM Tengku Azmi Tengku Majid (Director of MPC, Kuching), En. Abdul Halim Abdullah (Regional Manager, SME Bank, Kuching), En. Esmawandy Mohd Esa (Director, SME Corp. Kuching) and Mdm. Leany Moktar (Director, MATRADE, Kuching).
State agencies present were led by Tan Sri Datuk Amar Wilson Baya Dandot the CEO of RECODA and senior officers from the State Planning Unit, Ministry of Industrial Development, Sarawak, Sarawak Energy Bhd, Bintulu Development Authority, JKR – Northern Regional Office, LAKU Management Sdn Bhd, Samalaju Industrial Port Sdn Bhd and Samalaju Properties Sdn Bhd.
Investors were represented by senior personnel from Tokuyama Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Press Metal Sdn Bhd, Pertama Ferroalloys Sdn Bhd, OM Materials (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd, Sakura Ferroalloys Sdn Bhd and Malaysia Phosphate Additives Sdn. Bhd.
