Strengthening Sarawak’s food value and supply chains is key to building a resilient and sustainable food industry and advancing the state’s aspiration to become a key food production hub for the nation. In support of this effort, the RECODA has appointed Idris Ibrahim & Co. as the consultant for the Kajian Pengukuhan Rantaian Nilai dan Bekalan bagi Menyokong Pembangunan Sarawak sebagai Hab Pengeluaran Makanan Negara.

The 12-month study will assess the value and supply chains across the crops, livestock and fisheries subsectors, identifying key opportunities, gaps and strategic interventions to strengthen Sarawak’s food industry. The meeting was attended by Puan Nik Nurashikin Binti Nik Mansor, Principal Assistant Director (Agro-Based Industry), Agriculture Division, Ministry of Economy; Haji Wan Idris Bin Wan Ibrahim, Managing Partner of Idris Ibrahim & Co.; and RECODA’s Socio Economic team.

RECODA looks forward to working closely with Idris Ibrahim & Co., the Ministry of Economy and relevant stakeholders throughout the study to strengthen Sarawak’s food production capabilities and contribute towards the nation’s food security.
