Day 1 of NRDA Socio Economic Development Plan (SEDP) Study Visit
Our study visit kicked off with a trip to Yit Foh Coffee Farm & Factory in Tenom, Sabah! Participants from NRDA and RECODA, along with local project participants from Lawas and Limbang, had an insightful day learning about coffee production processes and market expansion.
The team explored ways to boost marketability and sustainability for smaller local sellers during their engagement session as well.
During the visit, participants also explored the coffee farm, a “kelapa pandan” farm where the coconuts are planted to provide shade for the coffee trees that are sensitive to heat fluctuations.
They also visited a hydroponic farm, another initiative by the Yit Foh Coffee Farm.
This hands-on experience is part of NRDA’s commitment to fostering socio-economic growth and empowering communities. Stay tuned as we continue our journey to discover more opportunities for local entrepreneurs and industries!
