Tan Sri Datuk Amar Wilson Baya Dandot, CEO of RECODA and his management team welcomed delegates from The World Bank. The delegates were led by Dr. Sudhir Shetty, Chief Economist for East Asia Pacific Region who was accompanied by Mr Faris Hadad-Zervos, Country Manager of World Bank Malaysia, Dr Julio E. Revilla, Lead Economist and Dr. Rafael Munoz Moreno, Senior Economist.
The delegates were escorted by Mr Chang Ngee Hui the Sarawak State Economic Advisor from State Planning Unit. The World Bank is a vital source of financial and technical assistance to developing countries and it offers unique partnerships to reduce poverty and support development.
Prior to meeting with RECODA, the World Bank delegates had a briefing session with heads of departments and agencies of the Sarawak government on the latest global economic situation with a particular focus on East Asia and Malaysia.
During the visit to RECODA, the delegates were briefed on RECODA’s journey since its inception in 2009, it’s progress and latest updates on project developments in SCORE. The delegates were very impressed with RECODA’s achievements to date. The briefing session was held at RECODA’s office, Kuching.
