On 25th January 2016, Lixil Corporation of Japan made a business visit to RECODA and the delegation was welcomed by RECODA’s CEO Tan Sri Datuk Amar Wilson Baya Dandot.
Lixil Corporation Japan was established in 2001. The company is a comprehensive housing and living environment solutions provider. The firm has a market capitalisation of over 34 billion Yen and employs over 14,000 people around the world.
Brands under its umbrella include American Standard (Asia Pacific and North America), Groho, Lixil Suzuki and Sunwave. Japanese Research Institute (JRI) Limited, a think-tank and consulting firm belonging to Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (SMFG), one of the 3 mega-bank groups in Japan joined the visit aimed at exploring the investment potential of the palm oil biomass business in Sarawak.
JRI has developed Ecology Diversified Synergy (EDS) Technology and it intends to commercialize its technology through Lixil Corporation Japan. EDS reforms wood materials through heating and smoking which can then be used to make block board.
Accompanying the Japanese delegates was Director of MIDA Sarawak, En. Redzuan Abd Rahman, and his Assistant Director, En. Muhamad Helmi Hasan Basri.
