RECODA today engaged with Curtin University Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Bintulu Campus in an information sharing session on developing potential collaborations with industrial partners to serve regional communities in Sarawak.
During the online meeting, RECODA Facilitation & Coordination Manager Khairina Dawek said potential collaborations would not only focus on job training to serve energy-intensive industries, but also to meet the needs of regional community stakeholders.

Meanwhile, Curtin Malaysia pro vice-chancellor, president, and chief executive Prof. Simon Leunig said the university does carry out collaborations with industries, professional bodies in various ways, offering students exposure to industrial practices and to encourage industrial research.
He added that the university is open to discussions with interested parties on possible collaborations, which may include research and development, consultancy, facilities sharing, interns or graduates recruitment and community services.
UiTM Deputy Rector (Research And Industrial Linkages) Associate Prof. Dr Abang Zainoren Abang Abdurahman and UPM Bintulu Campus Director Associate Prof. Dr Shahrul Razid Sarbini also said their respective universities are open to collaborations, dependent on industry needs.
In addition to implementing infrastructure and socio-economic projects, RECODA assists existing investors in terms of manpower supply and jobs training. RECODA is also tasked with investment promotion in the SCORE region as well as job creation.
