An existing 4.3km dirt road linking the Batang Belaga bridge to Uma Sambop, in Belaga, will be upgraded to R1 standard in an infrastructure project implemented by the Upper Rajang Development Agency (URDA), under RECODA. The road will serve Uma Sambop Batu Pilau and Uma Sambop Long Semutut.
Land acquisition works and the shifting of electrical posts are currently underway. The road, which will connect to the Bakun Access Road that leads to the 2,400-megawatt (MW) Bakun Hydroelectric Plant (HEP), will be completed by the third quarter of this year.
