The foundation for a 130-metre bridge that crosses Nanga Machan, in the Kanowit District, is currently being laid.
Â
Reinforced concrete piling works at the river embankment and the fabrication of reinforcement cages for I-Girders are currently in progress.
Â
Also in progress is the construction of the 9.5km Ulu Machan road, which connects to the bridge. The current dirt road is being upgraded into a two-lane single carriageway premix road.
Â
Construction for both the road and the bridge will be completed by mid-2021. The projects are implemented by the Upper Rajang Development Agency (URDA), under RECODA.
