LAWAS: As his first order of business here on Monday, Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and his entourage made a beeline for RECODA’s exhibition booth in Kampung Punang.
RECODA chief executive officer Datu Ismawi Ismuni briefed the Chief Minister as well as Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan on the various infrastructure projects that are in store for Lawas and Limbang.
Kampung Punang, a coastal village, will see the construction of new roads and jetties, as well as a new school and a floating mosque.
The projects are being implemented by RECODA via the Northern Region Development Agency (NRDA), which is chaired by Awang Tengah.
The exhibition, joined by other state agencies, saw hundreds of people showing keen interest in the agency’s role in bringing development to the state as well as in drawing investment and creating jobs.
