Seminar Wanita TEGAS 2014 (TEGAS Women’s Seminar 2014) was held on 16th August 2014 at Borneo Convention Centre in Kuching.
Jointly organized by Workforce Development Unit (WDU), the Chief Minister’s Department and Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Bumiputera Sarawak (TEGAS), the one day event focused on exposing and empowering women through various opportunities across various industries.
Launched by Yang Amat Berbahagia Puan Sri Dato Hajah Jamilah Binti Haji Anu, wife to the Chief Minister of Sarawak, the seminar’s objectives includes:

  1. Creating awareness among women on educational opportunities and careers in the field of skills development created by SCORE;
  2. Empowering women to increase their marketability among the youth with accurate information about career opportunities in the various available field of skills;
  3. Raising awareness among women on TEVT, the main education option for creating a skilled workforce that will drive Sarawak as a developed state and as a higher education economy;
  4. Helping mothers guide children with learning disabilities or those who are not academically inclined so they have the opportunity to determine a direction for their future education and career; and
  5. Exposing women to careers in oil and gas, SPA, modern and traditional crafts, and other fields.

Various activities were held during the seminar including talks, showcases by various organizations including RECODA on the development of SCORE, exhibitions and health checks.
