On November 15th 2013, and in line with countries within the APAC region, the European Union and North America, Malaysia passed into law the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) which protects the data of individuals.

It is now an offence for data users to reveal personal data to third parties without first obtaining the consent of the data owner. This means that if you store any data on a customer, supplier, partner, staff member and so on, and that information is distributed without the individuals’ permission, you are liable.

On August 26th, Jagat ICT Consulting will conduct a one day seminar on the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) at Pullman Hotel, Kuching. This one day seminar is an ideal platform for identifying how the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) will impact your business and what you can and cannot do with customer data. It will provide insights and knowledge of data protection and what it means to the organization and the customer and how to integrate it into good corporate governance to ensure your company stays within the law.
