The Yang Dipertua Negeri of Sarawak and Chairman of RECODA, His Excellency Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud announced earlier this year that despite the fragile global economy and intense competition, SCORE has already attracted RM28 billion (US$8.5 billion) in investments.

The largest share of this investment came from five global companies who were pioneer investors in SCORE. Two of these companies will become operational this year. For more information on existing investors in SCORE please visit the Investors page on our website.

The State continues to work with potential investors and strategic partners from Japan, Korea as well as companies from other countries. As a result of the interest in SCORE and the needs of these stakeholders, the state government and RECODA, the agency responsible for developing SCORE, have revised the development schedule of SCORE and will now build the Baram and Baleh dams simultaneously.

Once these dams are operational, they will have a combined capacity of 1,495 MW of renewable energy generating capacity and will go a long way to addressing the energy needs of the next stage of investors in SCORE.

With SCORE forecasted to attract up to US$200 billion worth of investments in the future, these dams will allow Sarawak to continue to offer competitively priced renewable energy.
