Keeping the momentum going, the Sarawak delegation continues its working visit to Norway with a courtesy visit to the Mayor of Bergen, Ms. Marit Warncke. This engagement strengthens ties in urban planning, sustainability, and economic cooperation. Discussions focused on Bergen’s approach to heritage preservation, climate resilience, and green urban development, offering valuable insights for Sarawak’s own sustainable growth strategies.
The delegation then visited CCB Energy Park and ZEG Power in Agotnes, exploring Norway’s advancements in carbon capture, storage, and clean hydrogen production. CCB Energy Park is the world’s first fully integrated Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) hub, supporting large-scale hydrogen-based energy production and fostering industrial synergy through clean hydrogen, CO2, and surplus heat. Mr. Ronny Haufe, Chief Executive Officer of CCB Energy Holding, provided an in-depth briefing on the facility, highlighting its capability in facilitating a sustainable energy ecosystem by integrating various low-carbon technologies to drive industrial decarbonisation.
At ZEG Power, the delegation gained insights into its innovative process for producing clean hydrogen from natural gas with integrated carbon capture. ZEG Power’s technology positions it as a key player in sustainable energy solutions, aligning with global efforts to transition toward a greener future.
Beyond urban development, this visit highlights potential economic partnerships in clean energy and emerging technologies. With Sarawak’s growing focus on green technology, the digital economy, and carbon management, Norway serves as a valuable partner in advancing its sustainability agenda.
